Peter Sellers

Peter Sellers was born in Southsea on 8 September 1925, the son of two performers who were appearing at the King’s Theatre. He joined them on stage at an early age, before becoming a comedy star on the radio. He moved to motion pictures and appeared in many films including the Pink Panther series.
Portsmouth, Hampshire has an extraordinary past. During every era it has been at the forefront of events that have affected the course of not only national but often international history. Alongside this, on a smaller scale, there are the every day stories of the many differing peoples who have spent their lives here and took part in these historic events.
